A short overview of the history of the café’s first floor

This legendary late 19th and early 20th century café-confectionery shop has been popular throughout its history. Originally located on the ground floor, the café was expanded to the first floor in the 1980s. It was a well-regarded eatery that often hosted distinguished guests visiting the country.

In 2015, the first floor was given stylish makeover to provide a memorable experience for guests who appreciate the history of the café and its delicious offerings.

In the early 20th century, the first floor had a prestigious five-room apartment for its owner Georg Stude. After the Second World War, these premises housed the editorial offices of the popular women’s magazine Eesti Naine.
